The New York Times: Trump's War on Worker Rights

Trump ran for office claiming to be a champion of American workers and a friend of labor unions. In reality his administration continually favors employers at the expense of working people, failing to protect workers’ rights, safety and economic welfare, undermining state regulators, and seeking to prevent workers from protecting their own interest through collective bargaining.

In 2018 Trump’s Labor Department even began a program allowing employers to report their own federal wage law violations and avoid paying penalties. The administration also fails to enforce many existing laws and has reduced the number of OSHA inspectors, putting workers in danger of injury and physical harm in certain workplaces.
